Today was a crazy day, but I made sure I gave my little one growing in my belly time to dance. I woke up early so I could eat at home instead of in the car. I packed a wonderful lunch of mangos, pineapple, grapes and strawberries, and I drank plenty of water. Today I was at a school in north Jersey. Instead of running around like a chicken without a head, I made sure all my lessons and meetings were stellar, but when it was time for a break, I took a break. I even put my feet up. Guess what? Yes, her movement is so much better. She is giving me signals that she enjoys the quiet time when it's her and I - Sitting. Take it from me, take it easy. I read two books weekly, What To Expect When Your Expecting and Week by Week. They are both great reads and must haves for preggo mommies. In both books it clearly states that baby is most active when you are not. It says it straight out that you may not feel your baby if you are on the move all day. Low and behold, I have found that to be true.
Because I love reading these books weekly, I have decided to list some more books on the eBay store: Little Baby Headquarters. I just sold What To Expect, but two others are listed right now. They are for moms of many kinds. Check these out!
The Milk Memos: This one-of-a-kind guide to balancing motherhood and work is based on actual journals kept by a group of IBM women during their visits to the company's employee lactation room. It all began when IBM manager Cate Colburn-Smith sat down in the company's employee lactation room, shed a few silent tears, and wrote the following on a paper towel: I'm a new mom and today is my first day back at work. Is anyone else using this room? Right away women responded, and the paper towel was eventually replaced by a series of notebooks, in which women offered one another advice and support on juggling work and a newborn. Based on the original notebooks, The Milk Memos is a heartwarming, encouraging (and often hilarious!) guide to working motherhood.
Sippy Cups Are Not For Chardonnay: In busy Mom-friendly short essays, Sippy Cups Are Not for Chardonnay delivers the empathetic straight dirt on parenting, tackling everything from Mommy & Me classes ("Your baby doesn't need to be making friends at three months old -- you do! But not with people you'll meet at Mommy & Me") to attachment parenting ("If you're holding your baby 24/7, that's not a baby, that's a tumor"). Stefanie Wilder-Taylor combines practical tips with sidesplitting humor and refreshing honesty, assuring women that they can be good mothers and responsibly make their own choices.
Read up. There's a lot we don't know:)
